    • Having a Linked In profile and presence is good for all businesses.

    • Local businesses thrive on Facebook and Instagram.

    • Networking groups focus on either Facebook, Instagram, or Linked In, depending on their target audience and how they communicate within their group.

    • Next Door is a growing and attractive site where homeowners and renters are going to seek for opinions and help outside of Facebook.

  • Follow a Content Calendar: Being strageic is key. Know when you are going to post and what you are going to post so that you:

    • Know your message ahead of time.

    • Have a plan.

    • Are not stressing about your plan.

    • Have a mixed content plan so that it is engaging your followers and attracting new followers.

      • Promotional.

      • Educational.

      • Engaging.

  • Be Consistently Engaging: Social media is not a one-way push. It is important to nurture the conversation. Respond and interact. This shows that you are listening and caring to your customers and followers. show appreciation to your followers. Moreover, you are building trust and loyalty, in addition to a new customer base.

  • Be Visual: If your posts are all text and do not have engaging visuals or videos that reflect your brand's personality, you will not receive likes, views, or follows. People enjoy being able to connect with a company but also with you. They want to see, feel, hug, and squeeze the person behind the company. Make yourself real and able to connect with the customer. Whether your company has your personality or its own personality --- identify your company's brand.

  • Be Seen: Hashtags, key words, metatags, and metadata are all important. Getting your name and your company's name in the forefront and seen are all so valuable and important. Using these features enable your company's content, name, and brand to become more visible. Keep hashtags to less than more, and embed keywords, metatags, and metadata where able. While some sites like Facebook might strip the metadata, other sites may not; so it's worth a the time for embedding.

By applying these techniques, you’ll create a social media presence that feels authentic and inviting and create great relationships that make a difference.
